Last night Poole Lifeboat launched at 18:22 to locate a PLB – personal locator beacon that was transmitting a position, this was on the outside of Poole Quay Boat Haven.
The lifeboat was immediately on scene with the assistance of Poole Harbour control.
The Atlantic was put in the exact location that the device was giving. Volunteer crew searched amongst the rocks and waded out up to chest deep feeling around with their feet but nothing was found.
The search was then expanded out to cover the Oyster bank out to Stakes Buoy, nothing untoward was found, so the search was called off and the crew returned back to station and were ready for service by 20:15
