On Monday evening (July 24) the Atlantic was tasked by Solent Coastguard as a report had come through that someone was possibly missing.
The lifeboat volunteers launched at 21:20 and were soon on scene, they began a thorough search of Studland bay shoreline from the Training bank to Old Harry and the Swash channel and back looking for a missing male.
Nothing untoward was found, the crew spoke to dog walkers and spear fishermen who were in the vicinity, they had also seen nothing.
The helicopter had also been tasked and was searching the shoreline including cliff tops and dunes. As nothing was found after a comprehensive search the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station. The lifeboat was refuelled and ready to for service by 00:25.
