Lifeboat Launched Whilst On Exercise

Poole Lifeboat volunteers were out in the Poole Harbour around 6pm (Monday October 23) on exercise, with potential Helmsmen being put through their paces in the D-Class when a report came through that a kite surfer had got into difficulty near Parkstone Yacht club.
When the lifeboat arrived on scene, the stricken kite surfer had taken refuge on a moored boat and was waving for help, he had managed to deflate his kite.
The volunteers checked that he was okay and none the worse for wear, the wind had dropped a little, but was still a force 3.
The casualty was transferred with his kit onto the lifeboat and taken back ashore to Baiter Slipway, where the volunteer lifeboat operations manager was on hand to help the casualty ashore.
