Volunteers from Poole and Swanage Lifeboat Station took part in a joint training scenario last night (13 June).
Whist enroute round to Swanage Bay Poole Atlantic dropped a drifting dummy 2 miles South East of Old Harry Rocks.
Both Poole and Swanage lifeboats then conducted a training session practising the recovery of divers into their boats and took time to share best practices.
After this 90 min session Poole Lifeboat, Swanage Lifeboat and the dive vessel headed to the search area to search for the drifting target.
With some excellent search planning from the Swanage Lifeboat crew the dummy was quickly spotted by the dive vessel which had drifted about 3 miles in that 90min period.
A really useful evening and thanks to the divers for this hands on training.
