Today, the statioIMGP2928n has both an inshore B class Atlantic 85 lifeboat, launching from a floating boathouse, and an all-weather Tyne class lifeboat, which is moored afloat.

The kit room

On the ground floor of the boathouse is a changing room – where drysuits, waterproof jackets and trousers, thermal clothing, lifejackets, helmets and gloves are stored in a dehumidifying atmosphere – and a shower and toilet.

Crew room

Upstairs is theCrew room crew room, which is used for meetings and training and as an office for the Lifeboat Operations Manager. There is a chart table and marine radios, used to monitor progress during a call out and to communicate directly with the boats. A small kitchen area has the all-important tea and coffee-making facilities.
